Honoring Dr. Montessori's vision of the child's potential.
The Child's View Montessori is a full-day, year-round Montessori program located in Lincoln, Nebraska. Serving children from 18 months through Kindergarten, The Child's View seeks to provide a foundation for life-long learning that nurtures and encourages your child to grow emotionally, socially, and physically.
Our mission is to support children and families during this essential part of human development, early childhood. We respect each child as a unique individual, each on a path of natural development. Children learn best through sensorial experience, purposeful activity and recognized sensitive periods for learning.
Children are inherently driven to explore with the senses, absorb information and repeat activities in order to gain independence, confidence and knowledge.
The Child's View Montessori Inc. is a private corporation owned and directed by Ann and Scott DeVries. It is an approved private school through the Nebraska Department of Education and a licensed childcare facility by the Lincoln Lancaster County Health Department and the Department of Health and Human Services.
The Child's View Montessori staff is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing environment honoring Dr. Maria Montessori's vision of the child's potential.
Our staff are trained and certified in Montessori Education. In addition to this, all Lead Guides hold a minimum of a Bachelor's or Associates Degree. Montessori specific training is part of the orientation for all employees.
Infant/child CPR and First Aid classes are offered to all staff members as well as year-round staff development and inservice opportunities.
Montessori is both an educational philosophy and a vision of childhood that inspires growth in both the children and the adults involved. Montessori staff recognize the power within each child and respect individual patterns of growth and learning styles.
Respect, flexibility, and relationship, are key components our staff members strive to embody. Our goal is to model life-long learning and a respect for the individual, both adult and child alike.
Montessori's holistic and respectful approach to the spirit within each child, is at the core of every positive Montessori environment.

Children enroll as young as 18 months in our Toddler Community. Montessori Certified guides and trained assistants offer an atmosphere which encourages independence, and exploration and mastery of self-care activities.
The environment and adults foster accurate, expressive and specific language through vocabulary activities, objects, pictures and realistic books. Beginning counting is part of the table setting and snack routine. Community relationships are formed at lunch, snack & outdoor play in these first stages of learning socialization.
A small group of up to 12 children are guided by 2-3 consistent adults. The relationship between not only the child and the adult, but the parents and the staff, supports a respectful and individualized learning process through this natural and vital phase of development.
Our Primary Community is made up of 25-30 children ages 2.5-7 years old. 3-4 Montessori Certified guides and trained assistants guide these children through a 3 year process of learning, growth and development.
Fostering individual growth and education in areas such as practical life, the senses, language, math and the sciences, children learn and develop at their own pace. Through an array of beautifully designed materials and specific lessons, your child will thrive and emerge ready for the next phase of school and more importantly, for life.
